Bidding rules
The rules every bid on this platform is placed under. They describe what the platform actually does; where they and a machine's listing disagree, the listing wins.
Draft. This page is a structural placeholder and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It states nothing binding and must be completed before launch.
Sealed bidding
Every offer is sealed. No bidder, and no page, API response or email, discloses another bidder's amount or the reserve while a lot is open. Offers are opened together when the lot closes.
Who may bid
Bidding requires a registered account with a confirmed email address. Accounts may be suspended for non-payment, or for bidding without the intention or the means to complete. One bidder holds one account.
Placing an offer
An offer is a binding commitment to buy the lot at that price if it wins. Offers are in the currency shown on the listing and exclude VAT, buyer's premium and transport unless the listing says otherwise.
Revising an offer
An offer may be replaced by a higher one at any time before the lot closes. It may not be lowered and it may not be withdrawn. The most recent offer is the one that counts.
Reserve price
Most lots carry a confidential reserve. A lot whose highest offer is below the reserve does not sell, and the seller is under no obligation to accept it. The reserve is not published before, during or after the sale.
Closing
A lot closes at the time shown on its page. Offers received after that time are not accepted, and a late offer does not extend the closing time. The highest offer meeting the reserve wins.
Payment and collection
The winner is invoiced after closing and pays in full before collection. Machines are collected at the buyer's cost and risk from the location on the listing, within the period stated on the invoice.
